| subject: | Re: Highly reliable pop servers? |
From: Mike '/m' If you have no OS preferences, I'd recommend looking at the Postfix MTA (www.postfix.org). It's a breeze to configure, very flexible in its configuration, and reliable. I use it on my server in a Canada data center, and it ran for well over a year without any problems. I had to take it down when I upgraded the OS, it's been running since then. The mailing list for Postfix provides excellent support. I know that SUSE Linux uses Postfix in its distributions. I tend towards FreeBSD and OpenBSD, but you'll have to upgrade from sendmail to postfix with those two. It's not a big task, but just something n the checkoff list. Having said all that, if all you want is a reliable SMTP server to receive the mail and a POP3 server to deliver to clients, then you might want to look into some of the email services that provide email hosting for corporate client outsourcing. /m On Sat, 05 Nov 2005 08:18:44 -0800, Randall Parker wrote: >Mike, > >Well, they send via SMTP probably.
