 Perhaps it was a 912, the one with the VW engine.  Course it could have been 
a 924, 944 without turbo.  Both 4 bangers, so you're not really blowing much 
off the road there.  If it was a late model 911 Turbo or an older 928, you 
wouldn't have beat it..
