Not only that, but it sounds like it might make a dandy 'Community'
size Amateur Radio Packet network :)  One might even use a TCP/IP
application (ie JNOS) to run the network, and make allowances for
using a 'switch' station to link the small WAN to others around
a metro area.  :)
Please post your progress, so I can follow it and see how things go.
If I can find a couple inexpensive 49 Mc 'toys', I may give it a try.
