JANE KELLEY was thinking about Ritalin and keyed into cyberspace:
JK> MP> JK> MP> Suspect all you want. However, Jane, you wrote it. We
JK> MP> JK> know that yo I would not call the folks who are into
JK> MP> JK> dopamine research salescritters, nor would I call either
JK> MP> JK> the Seattle Times or the Los Angeles Times, both of whom
JK> MP> JK> just reported the latest findings on dopamine receptors and
JK> MP> JK> all kinds of addictions, as such.
JK> MP> quote, a fellow with and 800 number. Remember???? That is what I
JK> MP> was referring to,
JK>Strange. My 19 year old grandson has had two grandfathers who were
JK>from families with a history of alcoholism, reports that if he takes
JK>two of the tablets that Dr. Neher developed, he has no symptoms at
JK>all of ADD or ADHD.
Yep, that's him. "Doc Neher's Magic Pill Potion". I bought some. I took
eight! I found that I could leap over piles of your baloney in a single
bound (note, that those piles are taller than the Sears Tower).
JK>I've also got all of the original research papers from the Blum etal
JK>research and one of Dr. Nehers. Terry Neher is also a guest
JK>lecturer for Tacoma Community College on his ideas on nutrition for
JK>addicts. My ex boss has just taken one and reports that it was very
JK>worth while.
What did your ex-boss take? One of Doc Neher's Magic Potion Pills?
BTW, much of Blum's work has been discredited. It had a small problem.
It could not be duplicated.
JK>So, I think it depends upon just where the original learning comes
JK>from. And the lousy "mental health" workers who refuse to sit on
JK>hard chairs and learn anything at all about brain biochemistry are
JK>going to keep insisting that there is no merit at all to any
JK>remedial diets.
OOOOOOOPPPPPPPSSSSSS! We're back to sitting on hard chairs. I go to
professional seminars that can afford soft ones. You should try it. You
could get a real education.
JK>On the other hand, the P.E.T. scans don't show any genetic changes in
JK>those with that diagnosis alone. So perhaps this is all some
JK>enviornmental thing, or perhaps it is actually part of something
JK>else that those who are not into physical sciences miss completely.
PET scans have shown a specific difference in the brains of ADHDers that
correlates to that portion of the brain which controls impulsivity.
Subsequent MRIs have shown that the same area is proportionately smaller
in the ADHD brain.
JK>You might try reading about the common link in all addictions in the
JK>Los Angeles Times or the Seattle Times. That is, if you really want
JK>to help folsk and not just defend a very old fashioned viewpoint.
Since I am not into addictions, but ADHD, I'll take a pass on that.
The Few. The Proud. The Chosen.
