There is no law that says I can't have a friend format shift for me. =
There is no law that says it's "pirating" if we both already paid
for = copies. For that matter, there is nothing that says a copy of
something = in the virtual cyberspace realm is even considered to be in
tangible = form. Heck even the DMCA wouldn't apply to me if I downloaded an
= unprotected copy of a protected work I already owned because I wasn't =
the one who deprotected it.
As for your second statement, if I own a DVD I AM entitied to do with it =
as I wish with the simple restrictions emposed on me by copyright law. =
That's the whole basis of copyrights (restricting my entitlement to my =
paid for copy) and why copyrights exist at all so I've no idea where you =
get off saying this isn't so. You must not understand copyright law very =
well..

You can claim anything is defendable in court. That doesn't make =
it so. There is a difference between you format shifting a copy of = media
you own and trading pirated copies.
Then you continue into how you are entitled to do as you wish. You =
have made this clear which is why I brought it up. It comes across in =
almost everything you write on electronic media and pirating.
