And just because one lives in the American society/community, it does NOT
necessarliy mean they are a "member" of the Dominant Culture. Actually, I'm
still looking for the good definition of DC. The closest, IMHO, we have ever
come is the VERY GENERAL lists of attributes/attitudes comparing
A/American/
Asian cultures. And I fit some of all of them. Probably more from the Asian
and NA columns than from the American column.
Article in today's paper about an organization that is studying "white
culture". The white psychologist heading up the group is a diversity
consultant for businesses and is married to a black woman. The group is
called the Center for the Study of White American Culture. Where is it
located you ask? Roselle, New Jersey. And they have a website but the URL
was not given in the article.
