Not sure who would respect a vet that offers daft advice. Your birds were
better off in the living room with you than being put into solitary
confinement. They would quickly get used to any TV noise just like human
babies can sleep through noises from the TV. Bring them back and cover them
over to ensure they get the 12 hours sleep otherwise take this vet's advice
with a pinch of salt. Most of my indoor birds are in the living room and the
TV doesn't bother them at all. In fact if a phone rings on it, they all say
"hello" and if a favourite song is sung, they sing along.
