Projects, contests and prizes are part of the fun and winners will be photographed with former astronaut Jan Davis. What: "Let's Talk Trash" is the theme for 2003 Earth Day activities at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. Marshall volunteers are pursuing that theme by promoting recycling at Rainbow Elementary School in Madison with student contests and prizes to winners. Who: Former astronaut Jan Davis, director of Marshall's Flight Projects Directorate, will present awards to winners and pose for photographs with the children. When: Monday, April 21. Judging at noon, awards and photographs at 3 p.m. Where: Rainbow Elementary School, 50 Nance Road, Madison To attend: News media should contact Ms. Dorinda White, assistant principal at Rainbow Elementary, 824-8106. Additional Earth Day activities at the Marshall Center Pat Byington, environmental consultant and publisher of Bama Environmental News, will speak at a tree-planting ceremony Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at the Marshall Center's Activity Center, building 4316. News media interested in covering the April 23 event should contact the Marshall Media Relations Department at (256) 544-0034 no later than 4 p.m., April 22. Media must report to Gate 1, Martin Road exit at South Memorial Parkway. Vehicles are subject to security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance.
