subject: Disc Brakes on `64 Impala?

* Guest User was last heard rambling about:
GU> Hi, and thanks for reading this. I'd like to put disk
GU> brakes on my '64 Impala. I just ripped out everything
GU> between the ball joints from a '76 Mailibu I was wrecking
GU> for another purpose, hoping that maybe the whole mess would
GU> bolt into the '64.
GU> No luck there. the distance between the ball joints is
GU> about 3" different in the two cars.
GU> I wonder if anyone out there has done disk brakes into a
GU> '64 Chev, and if so, are there wrecker parts that will do
GU> the job, or does it have to
GU> be after-market stuff?
GU> Any replies appreciated.
Check the back of Hot Rod and Car Craft, the ad section for someone who
makes the kit. Otherwise check out a Moog or similar parts front end book and
find a car that uses the same ball joints. (68 Nova and 72 Chevelle
interchange)
