JW> As we don't have one, the Hay River pig farm (there are only three
JW> working farms in all of the NWT, all near Hay River) ships south to
 JW> Alberta.

SH> I think I knew that. Does the produce come back North?

No, it just gets intermingled with all the pork produced in western
Canada. The chicken and eggs get branded and sold locally though.

JW> We were at a YK steak house last night and they had caribou on the
JW> menu as a special. One of our group asked where it was from and we
JW> got a _very_ vague answer. It was good.

SH> Where would the Wildcat have gotten its caribou from?

Local, mostly Native, hunters. Black market. Again you will get very
vague answers if you ask.

Cheers,

Jim
