R>Online recovery is sometimes very important to me, too. I have physical
R>problems that wax and wane in intensity; when they're bad, I can't get
R>to many meetings, and echoes like this become a lifeline. Then I get
R>better and am away from the echoes for awhile. Right now, I'm feeling
R>sorta crappy physically and may not be able to make my Monday home
R>group, so I'm here.
This is the great thong about these conferences. They are here
24 hours a day. For many this is all one can get to due to
physical problems. I have heard some say that the InterNet
chat rooms are taking over. While the rooms are good as I also
use them, they are really not active 24 hours a day like these
conference boards are.
R>Anyway, it's nice to be able to get on here at any hour and talk
R>to other sober folks; at this hour on a weekend, most of my neighborhood
R>is decidedly NOT sober. Actually, that may be good; reminds me what I
R>used to be like. (Though I doubt my taste in music was ever that
R>bad.)
Remembering what it use to be like is important to me also.
My home group just started taking meetings to a Local detox
center in New York and when I found out it was the one I went
to a few years ago I made it my business to make sure I went
there also. It was real good for me and it also showed a few
of them that are there now that it is possible to get sober
as I made it a point to let them know they where in my old
seat..
