Thats because the 55 265 never had an oil filter.  As for boreing out the 265 
engine, I also did it on my 56 and when it was all done, I had cylinder walls 
that were very thin and would flex on hard exceleration.  You should have 
heard the racket....
This was in my 56 Corvette that was mounted with a 56 GM 4 speed hydro.  Man 
that was sweet!
