Hi Larry -> I do know what you are saying! I have shot enough winter shots to last -> several lifetimes. If I shoot another shot with snow on it, the snow had -> better be on a distant mountaintop. Pretty much all of January was in the -> minus double digits here, frequently dropping below -30° and with lows -> below -20° almost ever day. Getting a real case of cabin fever. Wow. We've hardly had any winter here at all this year. Most of this so called winter I have just been wearing my fall jacket....today included. Tomorrow we are expecting freezing rain, followed by dangerous winds, followed by heavy rain. The temperature will then drop and we will get snow. All that in just one day. I think winter has decided to try to make up for lost time or something. I took some winter shots and put a couple on PhotoSig. I'm in there as Yah But. As far as I know only Bob G went there to look though. -> -> This might be a good time to lay photography aside a bit and concentrate on -> your painting. I've been doing that too. I painted a picture of the barn across the street from a photo I took a couple of years back. It just made me want more barn pictures but most of the barns are too far off the road to get a decent shot. I find that when I flat-spot in one medium, switching to -> another medium can be extremely refreshing. I'm amazed how many people think I've hit a flat spot. That's not the problem. Just every once in a while I come to realize my pictures are just that....just pictures, not often anything special. -> In a couple of months it will be spring again, and with spring seems to come -> new optimism. If the camera - like the grass - lies dormant for a while, no -> problem. That's true. But it wouldn't be like me to put it away that long. I've just found out about a group that meets 30 miles away and they have guest speakers, etc. One that has caught my interest is about polaroid transfers. Ever since I saw some of those last spring I have thought it would be fun to try that. If I can get there, I'm likely to go. But, it's the same day as my new painting course starts, so I'll likely be too tired to attend. Sigh. I'm not bored. I'm just over tired. That depresses me a bit but I'll get over it eventually.
