Most of these systems do the FF by sending only every 3rd frame (at 3x
speed) or every 20th frame (at 20x speed) over the network to simulate FF
without flooding out the network. That's how my DVD player does it (I
wonder who owns the patent on that technique?) and it works quite well even
over g wireless with highdef content.
