And they are setting this up so it will be perceived as a reason to
upgrade, added capabilities in the new improved HDCP capable monitors. The
consumers will never realize that their existing computer monitors are
fully capable of showing the HD content. When the content is viewed on the
existing monitor it will be fuzzy or it won't show, with the new monitor
it's crystal clear HD quality. They will believe their eyes.

No, what will happen is that a new business model will form to take
advantage of whatever develops.

In this case the content will need to include product placement or some
other form of ads because it's far too easy to edit commercials out of
whatever is being distributed in digital form. Some parts of the industry
will suffer, such as sony entertainment and all the other copyright
leeches/middlemen but the folks who create the entertainment will learn to
sell product placement and get paid up front before the content is even
produced, once produced there won't be a need to furnish some distribution
company with profits because distribution will be provided free via a
fileshare type network. Additional funds can be generated by selling high
quality DVD sets via their website (address included at end of video). It
is a workable model, the folks who produced "Global Frequency"
have already realized there are other ways besides the networks.

Whether all the internet buzz ultimately revives the show, Rogers said he
has learned much from the leak and about the power of the internet.

"It changes the way I'll do my next project," said Rogers. If he
owned the full rights, he said, "I would put my pilot out on the
internet in a heartbeat. Want five more? Come buy the boxed set." He
urged other creators to do the same.

If someone like that leads the way and proves it a workable model, major
changes will begin to happen.
