Yeah, I mean the US is on the brink of a huge High Def revolution, what
better time to grab the hardware market? Buy a new sony HD tv and it plays
your avi collection... And they could still sell the content on blu-ray,
heck buy a blu-ray burner and download and burn.. All they need do is give
you a license to view sony content free with the purchase of a sony
device.. That would be enough to motivate me to buy some new hardware and
it would promote sony content at the same time.

What they appear to have learned is that this is a great time to get custom
laws written to their specifications..
