Yet, back in the 1950s, the major stars of the federation that was
eventually to become the WWE were Antonino Rocca (Italian, but raised in
Argentina) and Miguel Perez (Puerto Rican).
Well, actually, Rocca was the star, and they teamed him with Perez to
draw the Puerto Rican audience, which was a significant portion of their
house-draw in both NYC and Washington DC. But this did serve to raise
Perez to main event status.
