We had an old straight tailed 150 at the San Benito glider club that had
been crossbred with an Apache.  You could put that thing in flat pitch
and firewall it, and yank the biggest sailplane off the ground in 500
feet!  I used to love to fly that thing, just shove the throttle forward
and pull the yoke back and you were flying!
