Marge,
JB>There's a great book called "A Survivors Guide to Homeschooling", by
I just had this recently via an interlibrary loan, made copies of a few
pages for reference. Maybe I should just go ahead and have the bookstore
order it - it's only about $8, if I remember correctly.
JB>rules and regs you need, plus lots of very practical hands-on info.
Well, if I remember correctly (and sometimes I don't) this was another
of the references which said NJ just requires "equivalency" in
education. I did find what I was looking for in *that* area, though. I
went through another box I had in the basement with pamphlets &
references on homeschooling and found the photocopy of the state's
statutes I made last year. Reading through all the fine print I found
the specifics, like no less than 180 days and the history courses, like
civics, etc.
In the book you mentioned I especially liked the chapter on discipline
and setting rules & limits - something we've been very lax about at this
house.
JB>Order it at your local bookstore.
Will do! I also heard that Mary Pride's book - Schoolproof - will be an
interesting read. Have you seen it?
