AQ> I agree
The company promoting the machines have given me a stack of
literature which I haven't had time to look through yet. I will make
copies and distribute them to: chief of ortho surgery, ortho surgeons,
head nurse, nurse clinician, physiotherapy, and my own boss, Director of
Pharmacy.
The company is willing to loan the hospital 6 machines. I would
like to see 4 of them used on ortho patients and 2 on persistent pain
patients.
BTW, according to psychiatrists, chronic pain is no longer a
universal term for long-term pain. There are now chronic pain and
persistent pain.
Chronic pain has a psychiatric component, occurs always in the sites
of previous trauma/disease sites, may get better or worse, or even
disappear at times. The pain level will reach 0 pain at various times.
Persistent pain does not have a psychiatric component, is there ALL
the time. The pain level NEVER reach 0 pain at any time without
analgesics.
Just a new tidbit in medical lingo.
Take care!
Diana
