Hey LD, I just wanted to thank you for the suggestion of the capping
blocks (or are they called topping blocks) to mount Field targets on.
We've decided to go in that direction and the prototypes look and
work great. It's also a very inexpensive solution. Whilew the blocks
themselves are costing us 90cents each, the block and hardware combo
works out to just $3.12 per unit. We've bought our first 25 and when we
get them done we'll get 25 more.
This solution will allow us to vary the distance to targets much more
easily than we can now and it will also allow us to quick change them.
We will still be keeping the targets out year round but we'll constantly
rotate them into the shop for maintenance. I know you said they could
be drilled in the field with acordless drill, but we're going to use the
club's machine shop and drill press to do them all at once - should be
quicker.
Watch the scores this year - we'll see if it makes a difference!
