I am an EMT in Texas. When the paramedics come from good systems around here 
the hospital really enjoys have paramedics around. I found that they depend 
on paramedics for the really hard intubations and sticks. They only allow 
paramedics to work as techs. though(I guess they hate to loss that power). I 
only mean good systems in the sense of, when they know the standing orders 
are appropiate. This respect has only come with many years of proving our 
usefulness though.
