I've been reading the same mags as you...  R13 is going to be around for a 
while in my opinion for about 5 years before R14 hits the big leagues.  In 
the meantime there is going to be a gradual phase-out for support on R12.  
When r12 is phased out (in AutoDesk's mind) R14 will be released.  Looks like 
R14 (in the current trends) will operate only in Windows (95 and NT) and will 
require virtual reality input and output devices (like those on some arcade 
games).  This will force 3D solid modeling for what ever is being drawn.
