I think it's my dsl connection losing packets. I'm now about 300 feet from
the dslam but I had to switch to a speedstream 5200 which is a piece of
junk compared to my cisco 678. Logged pings last night and I'm getting a
significant number of timeouts which I think is the cause of the problem.

Time to buy a cisco 87x router I guess.
