Normally no, as we get quite a bit of algae.  However, there are tablets you 
can buy for feeding them.  And occasionally we treat ours to a slice of 
zuccini squash.  It's sound weird, but they love it.  Just slice the zuccini 
and boil the slices.  Then let them cool.  Drop one in the tank, and freeze 
the rest for later.  They love it!  The pleaco in my cichlid tank will 
actually stand up to the cichlids for his zuccini.  He'll just sit there and 
eat, even if they start nipping him.  And you tigers will probably like it
