That is simply false. It is very difficult to buy a PC without also
having to purchase some flavour of M$-Win installed. How M$ got that
past the justice department is beyond me. However, I DID state this
FACT in the original post. That is certainly not an open market. As
far as my going off the deep end, I have personally experienced being
offered a high dollar job at M$ within days of having sat in a meeting
and torn their sales rep to pieces. I didn't realize what was happening
until several other programmers and technicians told me they had the
same experience. At least at one time, this was a WELL KNOWN m$ trick.
