Bo, the original Fido software (the BBS side of the original Fidonet package) used *.msg format for the messages. *.MSG was the original format for the message base. *.msg were packed into the netmail .PKT files for the original fidonet mail transfers..... Fido, Opus, Maximus, and I'm sure almost any other BBS software running on fidonet at the time used *.MSG format. Yes, there were exceptions..... Take care.....
