It is a good devil's advocate question though. Back in the days when
the guards were the states, I'd have less problem with it. But when the
guards became federalized, to me, that pretty much ended it.
I personally have a hard time with always "calling out the guard" for
things. While they _might_ be effective, they often really aren't. And
they absolutely are not trained for _policing_ type activities. I think
there are far better ways to handle the situations then simply calling
in the military. Things like effective policing, rearming our societies
and such. And manners. In fact, especially manners.
