Is possible. But what I know for sure is that Himem.sys do some strange
things.
Because the following has worked with only MSDOS Himem.sys loaded.
/*
        mov ax,0 ;Segments ? What are segments ???
        mov     ds,ax                   ;DS = 0 !!! LET'S USE FLAT MEMORY !!!
        mov     word ptr [ds:0b8142h],8403h
                        ; ^^^^^^^^^^ FLAT MEMORY ABSOLUTE ADDRESS OF TEXTMEM!
*/
Now, I have *not* done a lot of experiments with this stuff, so it is
possible that I was wrong with saying that with Himem.sys loaded your CPU
is in Big-Real mode.....
But the above example shows why there is so much confusion about Himem.sys
and Big Real mode.
 CH> Try this some time:
The problem is that I have erased MSDOS from my computer ;-)
