        Indeed, that would otherwise be the case - but the transmitter in
question includes a circuit which produces audible beeps on the telephone
line in order to indicate to both parties that there is a third party (or
in this case, a recorder) present in the conversation - this satisfies the
provisions of the relevant communications privacy laws.
