Didn't sniff, but the switch lights, which are positioned so they're easy
to see from my main chair, seemed a bit quieter, if anything.  (I'm blessed
with an ARP-quiet cable ISP, so if there isn't anything new up, I only get
bursts every few minutes.

I'm theorizing that something in the MAC cacheing, or in browsemastering
clotted up.  How that could produce the same symptoms on four machines is
beyond me.  Enumeration of new machines seems a bit faster now, even with a
*&%% SP2 machine as the usual, default browsemaster (because it's rarely off
at night, not because I fiddled with the registry - gave up on that - too
many hickies).
