Ryan,
What kind of magic peephole do you use to view a world that exists
mostly in your mind? Oh, yeah! I forgot. Pot, huh. In my neighborood,
I see young black males driving through, walking through, on the
school bus, at the local supermarket and convenience store. This has
gone on for years. It's a predominantly white, suburban, middle class
neighborhood in a large city.
I have seen exactly _one_ black male being spoken with by police
because the super market charged him with shoplifting. I see no sign
that these ybm's have any fear of the police here.
You'll probably now allege that I am racist, and just don't know the
facts. Well, it happens that I am very intolerant of, and abhor
racism. If I saw an incident that smacked of it, I would turn in a
cop, or anyone else, in a heartbeat.
Both my stepdad and my brother (now deceased) were longtime cops. I
was amazed at the number of black friends who attended their funerals.
Many of those friends were just citizens from the areas they had
worked, and not fellow LEO's, although they had both, from time to
time had black partners, and were quite attached to them. When your
life depends on the guy next to you, it's no time to think of his
color.
You see entirely too many bogey men. Try taking a day off from getting
high and take a look at the real world.
