 Actually, that may be true in Tennessee. Here in Oregon, there is a form of
 tax called the "lottery". Much of the revenue from that lottery is used to
 create other businesses or provide financial assitance to businesses. And,
 by law, cannot be used for government (although there are persistent efforts
 on the part of some to divert the funds to things like schools.)
 
 And on that same subject, please explain the TVA and tell me the benefits MY
 family obtained from that project by the federal taxes they paid. Also
 explain the federal Small Business Administration.
 
 My World Almanac also tells me that only 14.6% of the population in 
ennessee
 is "government". Way behind trade, manufacturing and services.

 BTW, there is another way to possibly decrease your taxes. Convince the
 government to tax churches and other non-profit organizations that utilize
 services but don't pay for them.
