Probably not... they may become more commonplace, but it's doubtful they'll
oust a very established base.
Even if they did, they STILL wouldn't consume that much bandwidth. At best
they send at 28.8K, and then only for a few seconds (the time it takes to
send out a few messages). The bandwidth problem will crop up when we're all
using cable and ADSL modems, not when you stop playing Duke 3D on your
Game.com long enough to send a message or two.
