DT>How the hell am i meant to use extended registers with Turbo c++ v3.0 huh?

I don't believe you can. There might be an option to compile for a 386
or higher processors but to direcly program the registers, you'll have
to resort to Assembler.
P.S. I have Borland C++ 3.1 and I can't use either 386 or 486
instructions (BASM) 'cause the compiler can't handle them. I have to
resort to TASM.
