Oliver Grimm has been working on that code to produce a *ix-version. He
sent me some kind of snapshot some months ago that compiled more or less
cleanly with gcc on one of my FreeBSD machines (I was also able to read and
write some mails with it, but it still had some problems left to solve). 
I think Oliver himself is working under Linux. Maybe you should contact him
and ask him what the recent state of his codebase is.
