Dear Sirs,

We have made a further inspection of the MATV system at the 
above building and report as follows.

The existing antenna is a VHF unit which is producing poor
quality reception with severe ghosting on Channel 2 and
Channel 9 and a ghost on Channel 7 and Channel 10.  SBS is
not received by the antenna.

One coaxial cable is installed to the distribution amplifier
located on Level 9 in the garbage room.  The cable is white
and single screened.  White coaxial cable is not UV stabilised
and is prone to damage where exposed.  Poor screening can result 
in ghosting or interference due to the ingress of signals along
the cable's length.  The amplifier is not operating to
specification with low output levels.  The output of the
amplifier is connected to a 3 way splitter which feeds the three
vertical drop cables linking the units.  Ten units are connected 
to each cable.

We recommend that the VHF antenna be replaced and a UHF antenna
installed to receive the five Sydney channels with improved
quality; a new cable be installed to the garbage room (we assume 
that a new cable can be pulled through the existing conduit,
but if the cable is stuck additional cost would be involved in
installing new conduit and cable externally to the garbage
room);  a new distribution amplifier be installed; and the
splitter replaced.

In order to provide SBS to all the units, the service will need
to be converted down to VHF Channel 0 as the existing link
cables are only suitable for VHF reticulation.

In summary, the work required is to supply and install:

- VHF antenna
- UHF antenna
- Distribution amplifier
- Splitter
- 28-0 frequency converter

balance the output to the system and check outlets where access
is available.  If any faults are reported following the above
work, additional work may be required on outlet plates or link
cables between units.

The cost to carry out the work as detailed would be $1,961.00
inclusive of sales tax where applicable.
