I have a 10 year old Cockatoo, I got her about seven months ago from a friend 
The problem is she is terrified of my two children.  They are very gentle 
with her, but she tries to bite them.  Is there anything I can do to get her 
use to them.  She is the sweetest bird, and loves to cuddle with my husband 
and I.
   Also she screams evertime I leave the room.  I know the person who had her 
before  spent alot of time with her, the only time I have is in the evening.
Would it be a good idea to get her a mate?
