National Firearms Act of 1934. Is that how it started, or were they already
at it before that? How on earth did Roosevelt get that one through Congress
I wonder?

We get it here almost daily. Net result is that we are a hairs breath from
having all firearms (those that haven't already been confiscated)
registered. The ones that honest citizens own I mean. Bad enough that you
are required to lock the unloaded weapons away someplace out of reach in an
emergency (there was even talk of having all firearms stored at police
stations), and bad enough that you have to jump through hoops to even
purchase a simple .22 for plinking, and that you can't have large magazines,
certain calibres like the .25 and .32 , but that this simple minded idiocy
is moving south as well. They were also seriously considering banning
crossbows and Super-Soakers, you know, those big water pistols. Just in case
someone loaded it with bleach or acid and did a driveby squirting. You think
I'm kidding? I wish I was.
