Hmm.  The bios in this machine *does* support LBA mode,  as well as a couple 
of others.  That's what's in there now,  AAMOF,  and the drive it's 
supporting is this 1.2G that's 2000-some-odd cylinders,  and there are no 
special drivers or anything loaded.
Likewise I didn't have any problems with the 2+G SCSI drive that's in here, 
once I told the Adaptec controller to do the translation,  rather than 
letting it operate raw.  I suspect that I might have to re-do this,  but if 
necessary once I install the new drive I'll copy stuff off that one and re-do 
it.

It's going to be an interesting experiment when I finally get around to it.  
I forget how many cylinders this drive is spec'd as having,  but the number 
is *way* up there,  way bigger than what I'm used to thinking of drive 
numbers resembling.

I am referring to the dos/dv setup.  The thing is,  if I only have HPFS 
partitions (to start with) and BM on the new drive,  then the existing C: 
_is_ going to be the first one that dos sees,  isn't it?

Is there any advantage to doing so with BOOTOS2?  Or is it just as easy to do 
an install from scratch,  once I get things partitioned?
