Wow, did that bring back memories. I had a 1953 Studebaker radio
that I did the 120VAC conversion to. I think I used a 6V filament
transformer. Removed the vibrator, and ran a couple of wire jumpers
to get the current into the primary of the radio's transformer.
It served me for a number of years, and it was *much* better than
any table radio I had.
Heard a lot of BCB DX on that thing! This was around 1959 or so...
But no, I don't need the thing. The memories are good enough!
