I don't know about PPPD (never used it), but I use a freeware command
line HTTP retriever called HTGet.  All it really needs is a valid
WATTCP.CFG file for operation.  I use it every day to grab weather
reports for the BBS.

If PPPD uses a WATTCP.CFG, the file name to look for is HTGET102.ZIP.
