| subject: | WATTS UP? KILOWATT-HOUR M |
"Greg Mayman" bravely wrote to "Mike Ross" (25 Aug 03 09:06:00) --- on the heady topic of "WATTS UP? KILOWATT-HOUR M" GM> Remember the "falling leaf" digital clocks that were driven by GM> sync motors? Those displays were a sort alphanumeric. The word digital only applies but when some kind of computer counter logic circuit is used. Otherwise things like mechanical odometers would be considered digital. Speaking of displays, I just purchased a surplus white light led the other day in the standard size package and I was curious, seeing how very bright it was, how many mcd's this thing emits. The funny thing is the led white light seems slightly bluish, rather than what we are used to from incandescent lamps but it looks different from fluorescent. Mike **** ... Which sparks some mnemonic circuitry. --- Blue Wave/DOS v2.30* Origin: Juxtaposition BBS, Telnet:juxtaposition.dynip.com (1:167/133) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 167/133 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
