RW> I traded a broken 51 Triumph 650 MC for a broken 67, 350.
You should sell cars. :)
RW> All it had was a spun rod bearing. When I opened it up, it
RW> had that AND it had already been sleeved in #2. It was only
RW> 3 years old. I put a crank kit in it, pulled the cam and
RW> put in the 327, 350 hp cam and new lifters and the other
RW> stuff in the sprocket and chain catagory. Bought some
RW> rebuilt 1.94 double camel hump heads, took em apart and
RW> ported the crap out of them. Put a high-rise manifold and
RW> Holley 750 double pumper on it.
Nice, even today it would be nice.
RW> Oh, and I used an old Corvette dual point distributor that I
RW> had been dragging around the country for the previous 5 or 6
Gheez.
RW> years. BTW, 67 rod bolts were 5/16, wereas 68 and up are
RW> 3/8...I had two rods with 3/8s bolts on the number one/two
RW> crank throw, the rest were 5/16s. It must have balanced it
RW> out pretty good as it revved quick and sounded real chirpy.
RW> And it would rev to 6200 with the hydraulics with out a
RW> sweat.
Luck is your friend.
RW> After that, I went through the rear end, replaced everything
RW> but the housing when I broke it..Put all new joints in the
RW> half-shafts and drive shaft. Replaced the 63 4speed with an
RW> M21 Muncie. Went through 5 clutch combo's before getting
RW> one to last a weekend at the drags...
Understandable. I had clutch problems on the turbo 6 in the Monza. At one
time had like an 80 lb mechanical pressure plate, wear a buffalos leg out.
That was when I learned how to make a slam box and used a vertigate shifter.
RW> JP> BE the man.
RW> It was kewl...
MANly.
