Hi Steve! Actually what the maps are showing is the jet stream swooping 
around from your way to here. the original post is a little old, but we've 
been lucky, the warm air ( exceptional for January here ) has been good to 
us. Brought us a green christmas though, and a high of mid fifties recently. 
It's going to be another odd year. We do get what you say, They call them the 
old Arctic express, but generally a lot of cold comes to us as your Jetstream 
comes upfrom The Pacificand through Alaska and swoops downward in an arc which 
hit the great lakes region, pretty regulary. Of course you know I was just 
kidding about the whole thing. It's just strange this time of year to 
fluctuate 60 degrees in a matter of a day or two.
