Although the GROL was granted to Radiotelephone 1st class ticket
holders, the GROL is nothing but a shadow of what the first class
ticket was. It is a shame really, as the first class ticket required
quite a bit of work and knowledge to obtain, while IMHO, the GROL
requires a evening or two of study.

Actually, MOST fire/police departments are not requiring this, although
SOME are.
Kind of interesting, to require passing a test that still asks questions
about vibrator power supplies, to work on a microprocessor based system....
