Hi Ed,
EG> BM> I don't buy that argument though, I really beleive that the more
games
EG> BM> that are televised, the more people see the team and want to go to
the
EG> BM> games to see it live
EG>
EG> Let's see...Go to the game and get gouged or watch it from my living
oom
EG> with my own snacks, air conditioner, beer and lounge chair. Difficult
EG> decision...Hmmm...Fight thousands of maniacs to get to the stadium or
EG> watch the game in my underware..Yeah, tough choice there, Bruce.
EG>
EG> Sorry, Bruce but if a game is on TV, there's likely to be fewer people
EG> going to the games, which is why blackouts for home games are essential.
EG> I like going to games but if I could watch the game from my living room
EG> instead of driving all the way to the stadium, I'd opt for the home
EG> front.
Then, why is it that teams like the Braves and Yankees show most of their
home
games on TV yet still draw great?
It's because the people see the games on TV, know the players then want to go
to the stadium to experience the games live and avoid listening to
broadcasters shoot the breeze.
Let's face it, the more exposure a team gets, the more fans show up at the
stadium.
Bruce
