subject: Output format of the DIR command

OS/2 since version 2.0 (we are now on version 4.0) has been solely an IBM
product. OS/2 version 1.1, which was the first version of OS/2 to support
HPFS and long filenames, was a joint effort by IBM and Microsoft. Microsoft
based the functionality of OS/2's command interpreter, CMD.EXE, on the
behaviour of MS-DOS COMMAND.COM (although it isn't quite the same, since
CMD.EXE supports things like START, DETACH, and multiple commands on one
line), but changed the output format of its DIR command to display the
filename in the last field so that long filenames could be displayed in full.
