subject: TS-50 glitch

Hi All, how are you doing?
I am just wondering if any TS-50 operators out there have come axross this
fault...
When first switching on my radio, if I key up on any power setting, the power
bounces up and down in an oscillating fassion, in other words the power goes
up and down not on/off bt creeps up/down slowly until the temperature of the
set increases then it settles down. This only lasts about 1-2 minutes the
all is fine. I've checked this over and all seems fine.
The outputs are not dropping off power or anything to suggest that the output
stage is on the way out.
Could it be that the temperature cut oof circuit that detects when the output
is running too hot just too cold? I have know a CB radio to do this when
being in a car in the winter before as the output devices were just too cold
though my set is permanently in my room which doesn't really get that
cold...chilly but not freezing!!!
Any idea's out there please get in touch...especially if my set is on the
brink of having a melt down scenario!!!!
Thankyou in advance.
Got to go...warp core breach inevitable...
