CS> Well, in the USA, it would be a salad bar. Most wont
CS> bother to eat a salad though or if they do, it's very
CS> fat-laden with cheese and bacon and then a fat-filled thick
CS> dressing. They take a healthy thing and make it unhealthy.

I don't believe we chose to eat less healthy. I do believe the
quality of what we have available has gone down hill. That and
the increased stress more time demands our society puts on us.

CS> I can understand how that would be worked out there. A
CS> differnce though? How many have their own garden at home
CS> where you are? That one varies a goodly bit in the USA but
CS> you have areas where 'everyone has one, at least a few
CS> tomatoes' and areas where folks look at you odd if you even
 CS> have a tomatoe plant.

Did you get that from Dan Quayle's writings?

 As to gardens...

My son in law is Turkish. His family was visiting here, the
first time was maybe 10 years ago. They arrived in Chicago,
where my family lives. Before coming out here they spent a
couple days there. First they went to my mother's house. Now
mostly they communicate through my daughter and her husband, as
his father spoke little English, and his mother effectively
  none at all.

While they were with my mother she took his mother out in the
backyard to show her around. Next thing they knew his mother was
shouting something in Turkish. They rushed out and what she was
saying was, "She's rich, she's rich."

See, my mother had a garden. In Turkey gardens are apparently
for rich people. At least in the city. Farmers grow food, rich
  people have gardens.
